Activision Blizzard Media's landmark global study shattered preconceptions about gamers, revealing the powerful influence of gaming moms. They challenged us at Five by Five to craft an experience that would break free from gaming genre clichés.


This was more than a design project; it was a mission to redefine 'gamer.' We discarded stereotypical visuals, opting for a human-centric, feminine aesthetic. Minimalist illustrations by Ryan Arambula depicted authentic moments of moms balancing gaming, family, and life, creating a powerful emotional connection.

These illustrations, layered onto vibrant, fluid environments, established a playful and impactful visual language for data visualization, transforming complex data into a compelling narrative. The success of this approach led to its adoption for a follow-up study on gaming dads, proving its power to resonate across diverse gamer demographics.
